Proposed transit and bicycle access to Victor Moore Arcade

Community members have requested that 74th and 75th Streets become primary access routes for transit and bicycles to the Victor Moore Arcade. Local access traffic would still be permitted. Buses currently running along 73rd Street would be re-routed to travel on 75th Street, between 35th and Roosevelt Avenues, a more direct connection to Victor Moore Arcade. This would require changes 75th Street between 30th and 37th Avenues to run northbound instead of southbound.

  1. Sarah Miller:

I’m happy to see all the plans for improved bicycle access. One thing I’d like to see more of is good bike parking throughout the neighborhood, to make it easier to do errands and shop via bike within the neighborhood. Could we get more expansive (ideally sheltered) bike parking by the post office on 37th, at Travers Park, and along 82nd st? Thanks!

  2. Willa, NYCDOT:

Thanks for the feedback, Sarah. Can you give us more specifics in terms of where you would like to see more bicycle parking, e.g. 37th Avenue in front of the Post Office? For instance, where exactly on 82nd Street – between Roosevelt Avenue and 37th Avenue? The more details the better in terms of us checking out whether it’s a good location.

  3. Carlos Martinez:

We need bike parking on every block, especially on 37th Ave and Northern Blvd.
