Park Slope Open House
You are invited to view new design concepts for Fourth Avenue between Pacific Street and 15th Street and provide feedback. This open house follows a public workshop in January where community members discussed the future of Fourth Avenue. Location: PS 256 Cafeteria, 371 89th Avenue (at 4th Avenue), Brooklyn.

Goals:
+ Identifying street safety concerns
+ Discussing street design solutions
+ Creating safer crossings
+ Improving safety for all road users

The format will be in small groups around tables in the Parish Hall, where we’ll discuss issues pedestrians, drivers, and others experience along 4th Avenue, and ideas to improve the avenue.
Translators who speak Spanish will be available for people who aren’t comfortable speaking in English.

CB7 Sunset Park Full Board vote
Brooklyn Community Board 7 is scheduling a vote on the 4th Avenue Sunset Park proposals for 15th to 65th Streets presented to the CB7 4th Avenue Working Group on April 30th and further discussed at a CB7 public hearing on May 14th.
Community Board 10 Traffic & Transportation Committee
DOT will describe the outreach process that will be used for the Bay Ridge section of 4th Avenue (65th Street to Shore Rd) beginning in Fall 2012.

UPROSE Bus Tour
Community partner UPROSE organized a bus tour for neighbors to ride along Fourth Avenue and discuss areas of interest and concern.
Data Collection
DOT collected data about crashes, traffic speeds, travel times, and traffic and pedestrian volumes.
Fourth Avenue Task Force
Task Force launched and committees organized; meetings held; DOT staff invited to participate with Transportation Safety and Median Beautification committees.
Walk-Throughs
DOT participated in meetings and neighborhood walk-throughs with CB7 Transportation committee and Park Slope Civil Council.
Study Begins
New York Police Department’s 72nd Precinct requested a safety project along the Fourth Avenue corridor. Community Board 7 also approached DOT with requests for safety improvements along the avenue in Sunset Park.
