Community Board 10′s Traffic and Transportation committee will hear the Bay Ridge 4th Avenue redesign proposal (for 65th St to Shore Rd) at their meeting beginning at 6:45 PM on Monday May 13th at the CB10 office, located at 8119 5th Avenue.

A public hearing date will be scheduled following that date at a larger venue.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to DOT’s Open House last night. Almost forty community members stopped by to view boards explaining the history of the project and give input on proposed designs for Fourth Avenue in Park Slope. The thoughtful comments and feedback DOT received—both last night and ongoing on the website—are crucial in the continued project design. We look forward to presenting a proposal for the corridor based on our community-driven planning in May with CB2 and CB6.

After attending the Bay Ridge community workshop, a reporter from The Brooklyn Paper took a radar gun to clock how fast cars are traveling on Fourth Avenue. Taking measurements throughout the day, there were cars found traveling as fast as 68 miles per hour on the road with a 30 mph speed limit.
